Firefighters recover body of boy in N.H. house fire

HAMPTON, N.H. (AP) — New Hampshire’s state fire marshal says the body of a child has been recovered from a house fire in Hampton.

Paul Parisi said the remains of the boy were recovered Wednesday morning. He said there were reports that there were about eight people in the home at the time of the fire, three adults and five children.

Seacoastonline.com reports police said the boy was 7. It also reported the Thorwald Avenue home housed an organization called the Guinea Pig Sanctuary, where the occupants took in more than 30 guinea pigs and sought to put them up for adoption.


Firefighters said the fire was reported after 12:30 a.m. and quickly spread to a home next door. The fire was brought under control at about 5 a.m.
