23-year-old Medway man killed in Hopkinton crash

His sedan rolled over on Interstate 495 and was submerged in water, police say.

A 23-year-old Medway man was killed Monday morning when the car he was driving rolled over and crashed along Interstate 495 in Hopkinton, authorities say.

A preliminary investigation suggests Ethan Huckins lost control of his 2006 Honda Civic around 5:30 a.m. as he drove northbound just before Exit 21, according to a statement from Massachusetts State Police.

The car rolled over and crashed in the median, “coming to rest upside down and submerged in water,” officials said.

“The operator and sole occupant was extricated from the vehicle by Hopkinton and Milford Fire personnel,” police said in the statement. “Hopkinton EMS began resuscitation efforts on scene and transported the man to Milford Regional Hospital where he was subsequently pronounced deceased.”

Authorities are still investigating why Huckins lost control of the car. The State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and Crime Scene Services Section are assisting in the investigation.
