NATICK, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts man who drove through a red light and crashed into another car, killing the driver, has pleaded guilty to negligent driving.
The MetroWest Daily News reports that 46-year-old Stephen Keefe entered his plea Tuesday in connection with the August 2016 crash in Natick that killed 53-year-old John Gryska.
Keefe has been prohibited from driving for 15 years, and he has been ordered to complete 100 hours of community service.
Authorities say Keefe drove through an intersection in Natick and struck Gryska’s car.
Gryska became trapped in the driver’s seat, and first responders had to use a cutting tool to get him out.
He died at a hospital, and his 15-year-old son who was in the passenger seat was also hospitalized.
