Woburn teacher placed on administrative leave

A Woburn Public Schools teacher was placed on leave due to alleged drug possession on school property, officials said.

An investigation led by the school district and Woburn police found that the alleged drug possession occurred, but that no students were involved in the incident nor were they placed in harm’s way as a result, a joint statement by both the school district and police said.

The teacher, who was not identified, was placed on administrative leave as soon as Superintendent Matthew Crowley was informed of the misconduct, officials said. The investigation determined that it was an administrative/employment matter.
