Police: Woman filed false report of robbery at Quincy park
The 49-year-old woman is being charged.
Quincy police say a woman who claimed she’d been knocked down and robbed in a city park is being charged with filing a false police report.
The 49-year-old woman alleged she had been pushed to the ground by a man who stole money from her purse while she was walking in Russell Park on March 25.
Police said Monday detectives reviewed surveillance footage in the area of the alleged crime scene.
“When Detective Eddy re-interviewed the alleged victim, she confessed that she had made a false report,” police said.
The woman will be summonsed to Quincy District Court for filing the false report.
