Woman, around 70, struck by commuter rail train in Concord, seriously injured

The train was headed inbound on the Fitchburg line, authorities say.

A woman, roughly 70 years old, was seriously injured after she was struck by an inbound commuter rail train near the Concord station around 12:50 p.m. Thursday, transit police said.

The woman was brought to a Boston hospital via medical helicopter, according to police.

There were around 25 people on the Fitchburg line train when the incident happened; none were injured, officials said.

Transit police detectives are investigating what happened, according to the department. The MBTA Commuter Rail was reporting delays following the incident.
