Woman dies after being pulled from water at Hull beach

The 69-year-old woman is believed to have suffered a "medical incident."

A woman who was pulled from the water at Nantasket Beach in Hull Sunday afternoon has died, according to a release from the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office.

Police believe 69-year-old Amy White “suffered a medical incident” while swimming that led to her death.

White was found unresponsive after beach-goers noticed that she had been floating on her back for several minutes, according to police. She was taken from the water at about 2 p.m. near Beach Avenue and Coburn Street.

Bystanders and first responders attempted to resuscitate White at the scene before she was transported to South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. She was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after 3 p.m., police said.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident and an autopsy will be performed, but foul play is not suspected.
