Authorities in Uxbridge are expressing gratitude that a driver involved in a crash on Route 146 on Tuesday wasn’t more seriously injured.
The town’s fire department shared photos of a car crushed under a tractor-trailer.
“This vehicle hit an object while traveling North, causing it to become air born, when it landed the operator had no brakes,” fire officials wrote. “The vehicle went across the grassy area, and into the North Bound on ramp, sliding completely under this trailer and just about out the other side.”
The car was then dragged “a good distance” by the truck.
The driver was able to get out of the driver’s side door — under the trailer — and was transported to a local hospital.
Fire officials said they were “pleased (and amazed)” that the driver received only minor injuries.
“We’re so incredibly thankful that the person in the vehicle is reported to have only minor injuries,” Uxbridge police said, sharing the photos from the fire department.
