Mass. State Police trooper injured on duty in motorcycle crash

His injuries are considered serious but not life-threatening, officials said.

A Massachusetts State Police trooper was seriously injured Sunday night when he crashed his motorcycle while on duty on an Interstate 95 ramp, authorities say.

The incident happened around 7:12 p.m. on the ramp from I-95 northbound to I-95/Route 128 northbound in Canton, according to a statement from State Police.

“The only vehicle involved in the crash was the motorcycle,” the statement says. “The trooper, a male, was transported by ambulance to Boston Medical Center with injuries that are serious but not considered life-threatening.”

State Police said they are investigating the cause of the crash. Other details of the incident were not released.
