COLCHESTER, Vt. (AP) — Vermont authorities say one kayaker is dead and another missing after several kayaks flipped over during a storm in Malletts Bay.

Police say 73-year-old Celine Teeson was pulled from the water Tuesday afternoon and given CPR before being taken to the hospital. Police said she later died.

Police said the other kayaker, believed to be a 73-year-old man from Chittenden County, hasn’t been found. His name hasn’t been released. Rescuers searched the Colchester bay Tuesday and planned to resume Wednesday.

Authorities say crews were called to a park near the bay after learning several boaters were stuck on the water as a storm approached.
