REVERE, Mass. (AP) — Massachusetts State Police have released the name of the man killed by officers during a pursuit over the weekend.

Spokesman David Procopio said in an emailed statement that 32-year-old Oscar Ventura-Gonzalez, of Lynn, was shot in Revere at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday following a chase that started in neighboring Everett. He was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston where he died.

Few other details, including the reason Ventura-Gonzalez was being pursued and whether he had a weapon, have been released.

Procopio says police are continuing to investigate the facts and circumstances of the shooting.

Suffolk District Attorney Rachael Rollins is investigating the use of force, which is standard procedure in all police-involved shootings. In a statement she said she is grateful that no bystanders were hurt.
