Video captured by boaters Friday off the shore of Provincetown shows a great white shark bumping up against their boat.
WBZ reported the encounter happened during a family boating trip. Those aboard — siblings Serena and Sean Colbert and their cousin, Mallory Fey, from Plymouth — guessed the shark was about 16 or 17 feet long.
“It definitely wasn’t scared of us,” Serena Colbert told the news station.
Across the bay, workers aboard a Boston Harbor Cruise boat recently spotted another shark, off Barnstable.
The videos come amid this summer’s spate of shark sightings, which have repeatedly closed down beaches.
There’s been an increase in shark sightings this summer, especially off the coast of Cape Cod, where there were more sharks spotted in July than all of last summer.
And now, you can add two more sightings to that list. pic.twitter.com/phYzYAW9iC
