A skydiving plane crash landed Friday afternoon at Pepperell Airport. Officials said neither person aboard was injured.
Police and fire crews arrived at the airport on Nashua Road just before 1 p.m., according to a release.
A preliminary investigation indicates the plane was trying to land after a skydiving run, but its nose struck the runway, forcing it off of the pavement and into grass 50 feet away.
A photo released by the Pepperell Police Department appears to show two firefighters hosing down the plane’s underside after the crash.
The department confirmed that the Federal Aviation Administration is aware of the incident, which is under investigation.
