A moose in New Hampshire got into the deep end on Tuesday when it got stuck in a swimming pool that had no stairs.
The state Fish and Game Department shared a video of the rescue effort by wildlife biologists and local conservation officers in Bedford.
The department said moose breeding season is starting to ramp up, meaning bulls are “on the move” looking for mates.
“In his travels, this young bull accidentally found his way into a swimming pool,” officials wrote.
The moose wasn’t able to get out on his own and was in the pool for several hours.
“The pool had no stairs,” the department wrote. “By putting a set of wooden steps in the pool and coaxing the moose towards them, he was able to find his way out and back in to the woods.”
