A Springfield College student, originally from Framingham, has died, according to school officials.
Connor Neshe died Sunday morning, according to an email from college President Mary-Beth A. Cooper sent out to the campus community. Neshe’s death is not being investigated as a criminal incident, said Damon Markiewicz, a spokesperson for the college, as confirmed to the school by Ryan Walsh, a spokesperson for the Springfield police.
“We wish to convey our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends,” Cooper’s email said. “Please keep them in your thoughts today and in the days to come.”
Neshe, a freshman, played on the college’s men’s tennis team and was studying sports biology, according to the college’s athletics website.
Cooper said counseling and student affairs services are available to those who need them.
