East Bridgewater police are investigating a hit-and-run involving 2 kids on horses

No humans or horses were injured in the incident.

East Bridgewater police are investigating an alleged hit-and-run involving two juveniles who were riding horses.

The juveniles were reportedly riding around 5 p.m. Wednesday on Belmont Street when an SUV side-swiped one of the horses and its rider.

The vehicle is believed to be a light-colored 2009 to 2012 Ford Escape or a Mercury Marine, according to police.

Police said the SUV’s passenger side mirror was damaged after striking the horse’s right front shoulder and the rider’s leg. The riders told officers the driver stopped and looked at the damage before driving away.

Neither the horse nor the rider was injured, according to police.
