A truck driver is getting some attention for doing his best impression of a Boy Scout on a street in Barnstable Thursday.
Realtor Samantha Steward was headed to a showing Thursday when she saw something she said gave her hope: a driver leaving his truck to help an elderly woman cross the street.
She said she was stopped at an intersection in Barnstable when she saw a truck with its hazards on. She took a video of the driver helping the woman across the road.
The driver, Rene Lopez, told WHDH he saw the woman struggling to cross so he used his truck to stop traffic.
As the driver returned to his truck, Steward said she pulled up and told him, “There needs to be more people in this world like you.”
Steward posted the video to Facebook with the caption, “People like him give me hope there is still good in the world? day made.”
The video had more than 6,000 views as of Friday afternoon.
