Boy awaiting heart transplant in Boston receives custom motorcycle, over 30,000 pieces of mail

Carlos Rolon, 6, has been in the hospital since late August.

A Worcester 6-year-old waiting for a heart transplant at Boston Children’s Hospital asked for Christmas cards to decorate his room with. He ended up getting those — from all 50 states and a handful of countries.

But that’s not all. Carlos Rolon also received a variety of packages, as well as a custom motorcycle — he refused to get off of it, his mother, Sheena Cossette, said in a Facebook post.

He absolutely loves his new bike hasn’t got off it yet lol…#bostonharley

Overall, Rolon received more than 30,000 pieces of mail. The special motorcycle gift came from Redlight King MC, a law enforcement motorcycle club, that worked with Boston Harley, according to Boston 25 News.

“Thank you for making this Christmas an unforgettable one !!” Corssette wrote in a Facebook post.

Rolon was born with a heart abnormality that has had him in the hospital since Aug. 31; he won’t be able to go home until a transplant is found. Cossette said she’s grateful to all the people who have sent her son mail.

“I want them all to know how much this truly means to my family, and how grateful I am for making my son’s Christmas so special,” Corsette told Boston.com back on Dec. 12 when the mail started to pour in. “It feels so good to know there’s so many positive people out there.”
