State police seek public’s help after body washes ashore in Revere

A man's body was found Tuesday morning near the Oak Island Bath House, police say.

The body of a man washed ashore on Revere Beach Tuesday morning, and state police have turned to the public for help identifying him.

Police said the body was found on the shoreline near the Oak Island Bath House. Efforts to identify the man and an investigation into the cause and manner of his death are ongoing.

After an examination the body, police described the man as 5-foot-11 and 30 to 40 years old.

“During the examination a metal plate was discovered in the man’s lower back, indicating he has had lower back surgery in the past,” state police said.

Anyone with information on a man matching this description who may be missing or unaccounted for is urged to call the Suffolk County detective unit at 617-727-8817.
