Police: Man charged after allegedly performing lewd act near Webster Lake

Authorities say an 18-year-old woman at Memorial Beach reported the incident to police.

A Connecticut man is facing charges after allegedly performing a lewd act near Memorial Beach in Webster.

Police said officers responded to the scene on Thursday around 4 p.m. after an 18-year-old woman, who was at Memorial Beach with her 4-year-old sister, reported seeing a man on a swing set allegedly exposing himself and engaged in a lewd act, holding his phone in his hand.

Upon arrival, officers located the individual matching the caller’s description, later identified as Tanner Desrosiers, 27, of Woodstock, Connecticut, according to Webster police.

Police said the 27-year-old told officers that he was allegedly urinating and that was what the teen possibly observed. He denied performing the lewd act, police said.

Desrosiers was arrested and charged with open and gross lewdness and lewd and lascivious conduct. He was released Thursday night on $290 cash bail. Attorney information for Desrosiers was not immediately available.

Police said the 27-year-old’s phone was seized as part of the investigation.

“This matter is still under investigation by Webster Police Detectives,” police said in a statement. “More charges may be filed at a later time.”
