Man allegedly stole purses in ‘extremely brazen’ Sharon break-in, police say

Authorities are looking to identify the suspect.

Sharon police are searching for man who allegedly snatched two purses in an “extremely brazen” break-in Monday night, authorities say.

According to police, an “older, heavy set white male,” sporting a gray Patriots t-shirt, a black “Taylor made” baseball cap, white Nike sneakers and a Red Sox face mask entered a home with an unlocked front door around 11 p.m. and stole two pocketbooks.

“This act was extremely brazen due to the fact the homeowners were entertaining guests on the back deck during the B&E,” officials said in a statement.

The man was seen leaving the area in what police believe is an “older model gray sedan.”

“The pocketbooks were located on an adjacent street and were only missing a Lexus key fob and cash,” authorities said.

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect, and those with information on the case are asked to contact detectives at 781-784-1587.
