A ‘Trump 2020’ sign was hung from live electrical wires in Wilmington—and police would like a word with who’s responsible

"Not only did they run the risk of electrocution, but the low hanging sign caused a hazard to passing motorists."

Wilmington police would like to talk to whoever was behind raising a “Trump 2020” sign over Main Street early Friday, hours after the final presidential debate wrapped up.

Photos posted by authorities on Twitter showed the cardboard display slouching over the roadway, posing a double threat, officials said.

“We are looking to speak with the individual who decided to hang a sign across Main St early this morning by tying it around live electrical wires,” police said. “Not only did they run the risk of electrocution, but the low hanging sign caused a hazard to passing motorists.”

President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden sparred in the second and last time before the Nov. 3 election Thursday night, with contrasting takes on how the country should handle a slate of issues, from renewable energy to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
