Construction worker hospitalized after 20-foot fall from site in Boston’s Financial District

The worker, who suffered major leg injuries, was treated on scene before being taken to a hospital.

Rescue crews used a tower crane to bring a construction worker to safety Thursday evening after he fell about 20 feet from a work site in Downtown Boston, firefighters reported from the scene.

Boston fire officials tweeted that the worker suffered major leg injuries from the fall, which happened around 4:45 p.m. near 150 Federal Street.

Due to the difficulty of the location, the department tweeted, crews had to use a tower crane to lift equipment up to the scene and to carry the worker down safely.

After treating the man, Boston EMS reportedly brought him to a local hospital.

No further information has been released as of Thursday night.
