64-year-old man dies in ATV crash in Melrose

MELROSE, Mass. (AP) — A 64-year-old man has died of injuries sustained in a late night all-terrain vehicle crash in Melrose, authorities say.

Melrose police officers and firefighters responded to the intersection of Upham Street and Wildwood Road for a report of a single-vehicle crash with serious injuries at about 11 p.m. Thursday, according to a statement Friday from police Chief Michael Lyle and Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan.

The victim was taken to Melrose-Wakefield Hospital where he died from his injuries, authorities said.

The victim lived in town but his name was not made public pending notification of family.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
