Watch: Water main break floods area near High and Congress streets

The break happened early Wednesday morning.

Videos of a water main break in Boston’s Financial District early Wednesday made it look like someone had installed a rather large and aggressive fountain in the middle of the roadway.

The gusher began around 2:45 a.m. at the intersections of Congress and High streets, according to WCVB. Some nearby businesses suffered flooding as crews worked to get the water under control.

The portion of High Street was still closed Wednesday morning, though Congress had reopened to traffic. Crews were working on a main when they hit another, according to the news station.
