‘We won’t forget this one’: Videos capture massive downpour that closed Six Flags New England

The theme park is closed Wednesday as crews cleanup from the intense storm.

Six Flags New England is closed to the public Wednesday as the Agawam theme park’s employees clean up after intense storms rumbled across Western Massachusetts on Tuesday.

“Six Flags New England will be closed on Wednesday, June 30 to allow our team time to clean up from last night’s storm,” Six Flags spokesperson Jennifer McGrath told WBZ. “For additional information or guest needs visit sixflags.com/newengland.”

The storms brought heavy rain, floods, and downed tree branches, according to videos and photos posted on social media.

“It was very scary,” one WBZ viewer posted on Instagram. “The kids were crying. We were under one of those tables with the umbrellas and we had to hold them because they were flying around. We all had to run to the bathroom to be safe under heavy rain. The thunder and lightning was crazy. I’m glad we are all safe.

“We won’t forget this one for sure.”
