‘Let’s Go Brandon’ stores open on South Shore

The phrase stems from an incident at an October NASCAR race, and evolved into a coded way to insult President Joe Biden.

Two stores hawking Trump-themed items and Joe Biden insults opened recently on the South Shore.

The Let’s Go Brandon stores in Somerset and Attleboro are headed by New England for Trump’s Keith Lambert, according to the Fall River Reporter.

The name comes from an Oct. 2 NASCAR race, in which a TV sports reporter was interviewing driver Brandon Brown while the crowd chanted “F— Joe Biden.” The reporter suggested they were chanting, “Let’s go Brandon” and the phrase become a coded way for the GOP faithful to insult the president.

Items for sale at the stores include T-shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies along with jackets, hats, gloves, bumper stickers, mugs, pins, flags, and coins, according to the Reporter.

According to TV station WJAR, the store also sells signs like “The 2nd Amendment is my gun permit,” “God, guns, & guts made America. Let’s keep all three,” and “When I die don’t let me vote Democrat.”
