A Taunton woman has been arrested for drunken driving in connection to a fatal crash in Middleborough on Tuesday night, according to police.

Tianna Hutchinson, 21, has been charged with motor vehicle homicide, driving under the influence of liquor, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle, according to a statement from Middleborough police.

Tuesday around 11:20 p.m., dispatchers received several calls reporting a car crash on Wareham Street, or Route 28, near the Middleborough Fire Station.

Police say the crash involved two cars, a white 2010 Chrysler 300 and a white 2015 Hyundai Sonata. The investigation indicates that the two cars collided head-on, according to police.

First responders treated the driver of the Sonata at the scene. The driver was then taken to Tobey Hospital and later pronounced dead, according to the statement.

The driver’s identity wasn’t immediately released, pending the notification of the next-of-kin.

Hutchinson was arrested without incident and arraigned Wednesday in Wareham District Court, according to WCVB.

According to the station, prosecutors said during the arraignment that Hutchinson said she had three drinks at a Taunton restaurant earlier Tuesday night.

According to a police report obtained by WCVB, Hutchinson’s blood alcohol level was allegedly more than two times the legal limit.

Hutchinson was released on personal recognizance with several conditions, according to the TV station. Those include home confinement except for work, alcohol monitoring, and a suspended license.
