An East Boston man cracked an MBTA bus window, then kicked a police officer while being placed under arrest Friday, Transit Police said.
Thomas Caruso, 55, allegedly kicked a “spider web crack” into a Route 116 bus’ window after being told he could not board an at-capacity bus near Maverick Station at around 5:45 p.m., Transit Police said in a statement.
Caruso was arrested on charges of malicious destruction of property, and as officers attempted to place him into their cruiser, Caruso kicked an officer in the “thigh area,” the statement said. During his booking, officers discovered he had several Marshalls store items with anti-theft security tags attached to them.
Caruso is set to be arraigned Monday in East Boston District Court on charges of malicious destruction of property, assault on a police officer, and receiving stolen property.
