Transit Police arrested a man who allegedly used a box cutter to attack a man in South Station Friday night
A passer-by told police on patrol around 7:50 p.m. that a man was urinating on a wall near the McDonald’s restaurant in the commuter rail and Amtrak terminal, police said in a statement.
Other people told police it looked like a fight was about to break out between two men there.
Officers found a man who said Ronald Bellerice, 43 of Mattapan, tried to stab him with a box cutter, police said. Bellerice sliced the man’s jacket, police said, but did not cut his skin.
Police found a box cutter in Bellerice’s pocket and charged him with assault with a dangerous weapon. He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Boston Municipal Court, police said.
A witness later told police Bellerice was the person urinating on the wall. As of Saturday morning, police said he was not facing any public urination charges.
