A 28-year-old New Bedford man was fatally injured yesterday in a two-car crash that State Police said was caused when an 81-year-old woman lost control of her car and drove into the other vehicle on a Route 24 onramp in Taunton. Nadia Brooks, of West Warwick, R.I., lost control on the curving ramp, drove across a grassy median, and slammed into a sport utility vehicle, causing it to roll over, State Police said. The driver of the SUV — Tyrell Jamall Cunningham, who was not wearing a seat belt — was ejected. He was dead on arrival at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, State Police said. Brooks suffered severe injuries and was also taken to Rhode Island Hospital.
