WPRI reporter and anchor Caroline Goggin shared a video Thursday to give an update on how she is doing as she recovers from a stroke she suffered just over a week ago.
Goggin is walking outside in the clip she shared. She said she’s doing “pretty well” as she recuperates.
“I can walk, I can talk, I can pretty much do everything I was able to do before,” the 27-year-old said. “The only real difference is I will undergo some occupational therapy in the coming months just to get myself 100 percent back to normal.”
Her doctors have told her she will make a full recovery, she said.
The 27-year-old has credited her husband, Travis Eldridge, with saving her life, as he quickly called 911 when she suffered the medical emergency on Oct. 8.
“These last nine days have been the scariest of our lives,” she said Thursday. “We never thought that we would get married, go on our honeymoon, and come back and have a medical emergency like this. But I will say all of your support — the well wishes, the prayers that people have sent for us — that’s what’s really gotten us through this difficult time and that’s what has kept my spirits so high through all of this.”
9 days post stroke.
