In honor of the 70th anniversary of D-Day, the US Department of Defense posted a video showing the actual sights and sounds of the Normandy invasion.

The compilation of archived footage captures various portions of the massive military operation in which Allied forces stormed the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944 in an offensive that led to the eventual defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II.
