A year after news of the Monica Lewinsky scandal broke, former First Lady Hillary Clinton allegedly told a Pulitzer-prize winning journalist that it was former President Bill Clinton’s abusive mother that caused his unfaithfulness and sex addiction, a new book claims.

That journalist was Lucinda Franks and while her latest book, “Timeless: Love, Morgenthau, and Me,’’ doesn’t have much to do about the Clintons, the part that does offers never before reported information from a 1999 interview with the former First Lady.

The New York Daily News obtained parts of the book a month before its scheduled August 2014 release. According to their report, Franks reveals that she only published a part of her interview with former First Lady when the Lewinsky scandal broke. The piece, published in Talk magazine, focused on the ongoing problems between the then-President’s grandmother and his mother, Virginia Kelley. According to Franks’ account, the former First Lady called her mother-in-law a “doozy.’’

According to the Daily Mail, Frank stopped short of publishing Hillary’s comments at the time because of the media frenzy that already surrounded the Lewinsky affair.

“He was abused. When a mother does what she does, it affects you forever,’’ Franks recalled in her new book that Hillary said.

According to Franks, she didn’t specify the type of abuse Bill allegedly endured, but she did blame that abuse for his infidelities.

“I am not going into it, but I’ll say that when this happens in children, it scars you,’’ Franks wrote that Hillary said. “You keep looking in all the wrong places for the parent who abused you.’’

According to Franks, Hillary claimed that Bill was as young as 4-years-old when the abuse began.

Franks’ book is one of a series new books that are being published making claims about the Clintons ahead of Hillary’s anticipated presidential run in 2016.
