If you plan on living to the year 2100, go out and buy an air conditioner, because Boston’s getting steamy.
And, for the most part, the heat will be going up.
Climate Central predicted that in Boston by 2100, the average high daytime temperature in the summer will be 89.11 degrees Fahrenheit. Currently, it is 78.98 degrees Fahrenheit.
And they didn’t even factor in the humidity. Ouch.
Climate Central said:
“By the end of the century, assuming the current emissions trends, Boston’s average summer high temperatures will be more than 10°F hotter than they are now, making it feel as balmy as North Miami Beach is today.’’
For many US cities, their average temperature in 2100 is similar to the average temperature of many Middle East cities today.
Climate Central also said that their predictions are based off the assumption the greenhouse gasses will continue to increase.
