Caitlyn (formerly Bruce) Jenner debuts on Vanity Fair cover

Caitlyn Jenner, the U.S. Olympian and Kardashian parent formerly known as Bruce, made her first public appearance on Vanity Fair’s July cover.

Jenner is the subject of an in-depth article by Buzz Bissinger, the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Friday Night Lights, with accompanying photos taken by celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz. Bissinger was given exclusive access to Jenner and her family as she transitioned from male to female.

In the article, which hits newsstands on June 9, Jenner says, “If I was lying on my deathbed and I had kept this secret and never ever did anything about it, I would be lying there saying, ‘You just blew your entire life.’’’

Jenner also introduced herself on Twitter:

It’s worth noting that Jenner decided to spell Caitlyn with a C, not a K.
