Trump finally fires back at James Comey on Twitter: ‘Comey is a leaker!’
The president remained silent on Twitter during the entirety of the ex-FBI director's Senate hearing.
After complete Twitter silence during James Comey’s Thursday testimony before the Senate intelligence committee, President Donald Trump finally took to the social media outlet to fire back at the ousted FBI director.
Despite so many false statements and lies, total and complete vindication…and WOW, Comey is a leaker!

“Despite so many false statements and lies, total and complete vindication…and WOW, Comey is a leaker!” the president tweeted Friday morning.
The last part is presumably in reference to Comey’s confirmation that he asked a friend to leak his memos on his meetings with Trump in hopes that it would prompt the appointment of a special counsel. Trump’s personal lawyer then suggested that Comey’s involvement with the leak might be cause for investigation.
During the hearing, Comey said he believes he was fired because of his investigation into Russia and former Trump security adviser Michael Flynn. Comey also said that he took detailed notes on nine of his one-on-one interactions with Trump because he feared the president would later lie about the nature of their conversations.
While reports suggested that Trump was planning on live-tweeting during Comey’s hearing, his Friday morning tweet was the first from his personal account in two days. However, Trump’s oldest son, Donald Trump Jr., tweeted consistently throughout the more-than-two-hour testimony.
