He didn’t name her as his own potential running mate, but Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders named Elizabeth Warren as a woman in politics that is qualified to be vice president during a Tuesday morning MSNBC “Morning Joe” segment.
“But I think, as you know, there are people in life today, Elizabeth Warren, I think, has been a real champion in standing up for working families, taking on Wall Street,” Sanders said, when pressed for specific women he thinks would make a good running mate.
Senator Warren was the only woman Sanders named specifically, but the presidential hopeful said many women were qualified for the job.
“I think the women of this country, the people of this country, understand it would be a great idea to have a woman as vice president, something I would give very serious thought to,” Sanders said.
