Senator Elizabeth Warren blasted President Donald Trump Tuesday for “trying to bully, intimidate and slut-shame” her colleague from New York, Kirsten Gillibrand.

“Do you know who you’re picking a fight with?” the Massachusetts Democrat tweeted. “Good luck with that, @realDonaldTrump. Nevertheless, #shepersisted.”

Warren’s castigating of Trump followed an early-morning tweet from the president saying Gillibrand would come to his office “begging” for campaign contributions, adding that she “would do anything” for them.

When asked about Trump’s tweet directed at her New York colleague, Warren told reporters it “was disgusting.”

“It was clear what he was getting at,” she said. “He is disgusting.”

Trump’s attack on the New York senator came a day after Gillibrand called for the president to resign over past allegations of sexual misconduct.

“You cannot silence me or the millions of women who have gotten off the sidelines to speak out about the unfitness and shame you have brought to the Oval Office,” Gillibrand said in response to Trump’s insinuations Tuesday.
