Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley is recovering from a knee injury after she tripped at her home Monday, according to a statement from her office.

“Congresswoman Pressley sustained a knee injury after tripping on the stairs at her home in Massachusetts Monday,” Lina Francis, Pressley’s communications director, said in the statement. “She received treatment and is grateful to the doctors and nurses who provided her with high quality care.”

According to Francis, the 7th District Democrat has canceled events scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday as she recovers.

“I am touched by the many phone calls & well wishes that I’ve received,” Pressley wrote in a tweet. “Unfortunately, I am currently sidelined due to an MCL injury. If you are an MCL injury survivor, share some tips lol. I miss everyone already & I am eager to get back to my recess events for the #MA7.”
