The long-running Fox comedy depicted the Massachusetts congresswoman and the three other freshman Democrats known as the “Squad” in a short musical clip promoting the show’s upcoming 31st season.
Riffing on President Donald Trump’s attacks on the four congresswoman last month, The Simpsons writers portrayed the president in the Oval Office seeking a “distraction” from his problems. In the clip, the animated Trump begins singing to a photo of Pressley, New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar, and Minnesota Rep. Rashida Tlaib that the four congresswoman “shouldn’t be in America” — only for the ‘”Squad” to come to life and sing right back at him.
“We’re more American than your wife,” the animated Omar sings.
“She’s not a big presence in my life,” Trump responds.
The musical back-and-forth goes on to reference Israel’s recent decision to deny entry to Omar and Tlaib and allegations that Trump has violated the constitution’s emoluments clause. While Pressley doesn’t get her own line in the clip, she does sing along with the rest of the Squad that Trump is Conservative British Prime Minister Boris Johnson “without the class.”
“Can’t wait to see you behind prison glass,” they sing together. “Your nose is right up Putin’s ass; we say it’s time to impeach you fast.”
After being chased onto the White House lawn, Trump is met by 18 of the Democratic primary candidates, including Warren, in a high-kick dancing line. After briefly joining them, the cartoon Trump topples over out of breath.
“Who’s the old man now?” former Vice President Joe Biden’s character laughs.
Pressley wasn’t immediate available to comment on her Simpsons debut, but the 7th District representative did like several tweets Wednesday mentioning the clip and retweeted a fan of the show’s screenshots of the four congresswomen’s depictions.
