For restless commuters hoping to escape the crowded T on the way to work, or for anybody just looking for a different way of getting around town, the popular car service app Uber has a new answer.

Between June 4 and 15, Uber members can request a boat trip through Boston Harbor. Boats will pick up or drop off passengers at places that range from the World Trade Center to Logan Airport to Charlestown Navy Yard to the New England Aquarium.

Each ride costs only $10 per person, as well as a $1 booking fee and 20 percent gratuity charge.

According to the Uber website, the option to request an UberBOAT pops up on the company’s app when members are a fourth of a mile or less away from Boston Harbor. Members can then summon an available boat to the dock nearest them.

Just like Uber drivers, boat captains will call passengers to alert them when the boat arrives.

The service will be available between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 10 p.m.

The Uber website noted that demand for UberBOAT may be high and cautioned patience while waiting for a boat.
