Ted Cruz challenged Marco Rubio to a debate in Spanish after Rubio accused Cruz of not being able to speak the language during a Republican presidential debate on Saturday night.
La lucha began when Cruz accused Rubio of going on Univision and saying he would not revoke President Barack Obama’s executive action on amnesty on his first day in office.
“I don’t know how he knows what I said on Univision because he doesn’t speak Spanish,’’ Rubio said.
Cruz, whose father was born in Cuba, was taken aback. He then took on Rubio—in Spanish.
“Ahora mismo, dicelo ahora en español si quieres,’’ Cruz said.
That roughly translates to, “say it now in Spanish if you want.’’
