A Masssachusetts corrections officer was arrested Tuesday in Somerset for allegedly trafficking heroin while off-duty, according to state police.
Stephen Lebreux, 40, of Swansea, a corrections officer at MCI-Bridgewater, was arrested after police set up an undercover purchase. The arrest was part of a several week-long investigation by the state police’s Gang Unit, with assistance from the FBI, police said.
According to police, an undercover state trooper made multiple heroin buys from Lebreux during the span of the investigation. Lebreux was off-duty and not at the prison at the time of the buys, police said.
Lebreux was charged with trafficking heroin and is expected to be arraigned Wednesday at Fall River District Court.
