The FBI and IRS have raided the law office of state Senator Brian Joyce in Canton.

“We are conducting court-authorized activity in connection with an ongoing investigation,’’ Kristen Setera, an FBI spokeswoman, told Boston.com.

Setera said the raid was taking place at 776R Washington St. in Canton.

The Boston Globereported last month that Joyce agreed to pay almost $5,000 for using campaign funds to pay for his son’s high school graduation party in 2014. The paper also reported that the democrat from Milton received over a thousand dollars in free dry cleaning services over the course of 10 years.

Joyce’s attorney, Howard Cooper, said his client believes he’s done nothing wrong.

“It is unfortunate that recent stories in the media appear to have sparked an investigation,’’ Cooper said in a statement. “Senator Joyce has been cooperating with each inquiry that has taken place to date resulting from those stories and believes that he has done absolutely nothing wrong.’’
