Here’s how much snow fell in Massachusetts

Most of the state is reporting more than a foot of accumulation from the latest winter storm, according to the National Weather Service.

A blizzard brought heavy snow to Boston and the rest of Southern New England on Tuesday.

By the time the storm completely passed early Wednesday morning, the National Weather Service said 14.8 inches had been observed in Boston, with 28.3 inches reported in Methuen and 15.1 in Weymouth.

The service said the nor’easter, the third in less than two weeks for the region, set some new snow records in Boston and Worcester.

The winter storm brought the total inches of snow this season in Boston to 56.8, according to service forecasters.

According to the service, whether more snow will squeak in before the official first day of spring remains to be seen.

“Expect mainly dry and cooler than normal weather into the weekend and early next week,” forecasters wrote Wednesday.  “Another coastal storm may impact the region sometime next late Tuesday or Tuesday night.”
