[6 AM] The red sunrise this morning is attributed to wildfire smoke overspreading New England from Quebec. Sensitive groups should avoid prolonged outdoor activity today, as this smoke WILL reach the surface. Here is one model's idea of near-surface smoke concentrations pic.twitter.com/IJaLCiWrYS

[Air Quality Alert: Tuesday] An increased risk for fine particulates from smoke caused by increased wildfire activity in eastern Canada has prompted @CTDEEPNews @RhodeIslandDEM & @MassDEP to issue Air Quality Alerts for Tuesday for all of CT, RI & MA. [Near Surface Smoke Returns Tue] While more sunshine with warmer temps will finally return Tuesday…a few hit or miss afternoon t-storms will develop. In addition, also expect near surface smoke to work back into #SNE from the Canadian Wildfires which the simulation depicts. pic.twitter.com/owMs2VR8vW

More mild today with highs in the 70s. Scattered showers and isolated thunder this afternoon. There is also an air quality alert in effect due to wild fire smoke from Canada moving over the region. pic.twitter.com/R4HAC7kzCQ

Air Quality Alert for the southwest half of New England for our Tuesday. You may smell some smoke, certainly can see it – decreases air quality enough so those with respiratory ailments notice, strenuous exercisers may notice, too. pic.twitter.com/4J91jgMXUt

Tuesday's wildfire smoke has shifted sources from previous rounds of smoke. Weeks ago it was Western Canada wildfires, last 2-3 weeks it was Nova Scotia (now receiving beneficial rain from a large storm stalled there), this week it's Quebec, where very little rain is falling. pic.twitter.com/GdS5MtuIlC

Appreciably more breaks of sun – albeit smoky sun – Tuesday, this bumps temperatures up to what may be warmest day of the week. This doesn't mean we're absent of showers, though – many have an elevated chance during the PM, some thunder. Lowest chance Srn NH/ME/Northern MA. pic.twitter.com/dSCC5nCKk0

The first observation of our #FirstAlert 10-day is that it doesn't look great, with the frequent shower chance. There are some positives though: breaks of sun on numerous days, comfortable temperatures on nearly all, and brightest skies may land on the weekend. Could be worse! pic.twitter.com/kevAjm63OW

Warmest of the week today in the 70s ahead of PM showers and t-storms. Cooler than average- in the 60s rest of the week with lots of clouds and a few pop-up showers each day under a cold pool of air aloft. It lifts out this weekend as we turn warmer and brighter #WCVB pic.twitter.com/QeRpzllRx1
Milder today, low to mid 70s. A mix of smoky sunshine and clouds this afternoon. Isolated to scattered storms. Cold air aloft = small hail in stronger cells. pic.twitter.com/l528Mr7zay
