It wasn't the smoothest win he'll ever have, but for the Red Raiders' Jack Scott, it will surely be one of the most memorable. Fitchburg opened its season with a win at Burncoat in Scott's first game as head coach. I wish it was a little prettier than that,'' Scott said. But, that's how things go early in the season. Still, I enjoyed every minute of the game.'' Charles Doss scored a game-high 22 points for Fitchburg, including 16 in the second half. Doss had several big buckets inside the paint down the stretch to withstand a late Burncoat (0-2) attack. We have to make sure we keep Charles involved,'' Scott said. Good things happen when he's around the ball.'' Trailing, 21-17, at halftime, the Red Raiders opened the third quarter on an 18-2 run, keyed by a pair of back-to-back 3-pointers by Mick Snowden well beyond the arc.
