Sophomore center Brenden Vargeletis pumped in a game-high 24 points and the visiting Chieftains (3-2) watched Groton-Dunstable senior guard Matt Conlin's 3-point attempt bounce away in the final seconds to preserve their victory. Freshman point guard Corey Romich had 14 points and nine assists to lead the Crusaders (1-5), while Conlin added 11 points and senior forward Charlie Burke chipped in 9 rebounds, 5 blocks, 3 steals and 2 points.
