Senior guard Ken Harrington scored 11 of his game-high 14 points in the first quarter, hitting all five of his field goal attempts, while the Pioneers' defense limited Xaverian to just 15 second-half points, paving the way to a hard-fought victory. Harrington sank two 3-pointers and made several slick passes. Junior forward TJ Kelley added 11 points, including one 3-pointer, for St. John's (2-0). He had 10 rebounds, nine off the defensive glass.
